One of the fun parts of being a marketing director for Bethany Global University (BGU) is that I get to do the design work and the copy writing (at least for now). I have always enjoyed the process of building pieces like this from scratch, though I will admit that it took me longer than I had hoped for.
This brochure in particular is a small piece that is sent via direct mail to anybody who requested more information about the college of missions. It is a little larger than an actual passport at 5×7, which makes it less expensive to print and mail out. As a direct mail brochure, it doesn’t contain detailed information about the college since the website suites that need, but reaffirms what they already know. Most people need to come in contact with marketing pieces like this brochure 7 or more times to build credibility. By the time most people have received this brochure they have already seen an ad, a landing page, a confirmation page, received a text message, a phone call, and multiple emails. You never know what medium people will see, so we use them all to reach out to those who want to know more.
